ESL - Ms. Linda Gu
Our ESL (English as a Second Language) Program offers services to our children who are English language learners (ELLs). In the Edison elementary schools, your child will be serviced for one period with an ESL teacher and other ELLs. Our goal is to develop your child’s language proficiency in the four domains of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In addition, we help develop socialization skills with classmates and adults, so that your child is confident in themselves and in their learning. We base our language proficiency and levels on the WIDA standards. We hope to create enjoyable and meaningful contexts for your child to develop their basic communicative skills as well as their academic language when they are ready to exit the program. We are excited and looking forward to working with you and your child this school year!
